Swimming

Our little son is big on bathtime and water in general. He has been in the ocean, a pond and pools. We signed him up for a swimming class for babies and their parents. Dad goes in and I look on. Coldish water freaks out my stroke side.  My muscles wants to bend inward. Annoying!

Anyone else have water issues?

My husband and I have taken to watching the Ninja Warrior contest, where extreme athletes run through an insane obstacle course. It is the sort of mindless TV show you watch when you are exhausted after a day of baby watching. But it was inspiring too. The next day I went to the gym and did all my stroke exercises with renewed vigor. Ninja Strokemama.

What gets you motivated?

I am in Washington D.C. this weekend. This is the first time I have used its Metro with a stroller. It’s awful! Elevators and escalators are broken all over the system. With infants you can take them out of their stroller and carry them, annoying. But someone in a wheelchair is stuck. Shame!

Boom!

It’s Independence Day in the US this week. Boston has lots of nighttime fireworks. In the past we went to parties late into the evening. But this year we will be trying to keep the baby asleep. Shhhhhhhh….
