Most grammar schools in the Boston area shut down for a week in February. That's because it is frigid; two weeks ago, it was -9 degrees F (-23 C)! So the whole city leaves for somewhere warm.

Our little family went to sunny Los Angeles, where my parents live. We are thawing.
